LATEST NEWS

Larry Carlton has been performing a new special “Greatest Hit's” show at Blue Note Tokyo, celebrating his becoming 70 this year, the 50th anniversary of his album debut, and the 40th anniversary of the release of “Room 335”

He changed his style a little bit by starting out quietly with some solo guitar playing, without the band, and then, in addition to some of his famous songs from past years, like “Smiles and Smiles to Go” and “Friday Night Shuffle”, and of course “Room 335”, etc., he also played the Doobie Brothers' “Minute by Minute” , Michael Jackson's “She's out of my life”, and the theme from “Hill Street Blues”, a famous American television drama, along with some other tunes for an interesting variety.
In addition, the band members were all truly amazing musicians and gave fantastic performances.
Although the usual PA system and rack system were on the stage, during the show there was no sound coming from them. The reverb/chorus sound was being output through the renewed pedalboard which had the FREE THE TONE Ambi Space Digital Reverb and Tri Avatar Multidimensional Chorus mounted on it. We met Larry and the members of his band backstage after the show, and he told us that the sound of the new pedalboard is very good. Larry’s new show is extremely successful and entertaining, and I am very pleased that we were invited to attend one of the performances by Mr. Travis Carlton.
Thank you very much Travis and Larry, and all the other guys in the band.
